Why must fire doors stay shut?

They slow fire and smoke spread, giving more time to escape.

No – drowning risk, pests, and slip hazards.

Fire risk from overheating/electrical faults.

High fire risk if left unattended.

Fire hazard, smoke risk, property damage.

Prevent falls – legally required in shared housing.

They are escape routes; clutter blocks exits and causes trips.

Can trigger alarms, affect air quality, and disturb others.

They overload sockets and increase fire risk. Use surge-protected extension leads instead.
